Types Of Braces
There are currently many options for braces that cater to various aesthetic needs.
1- Clear Colored Traditional Braces
Traditional braces are structures that consist of metal wires connected to brackets. Every bracket is cemented on a tooth creating the traditional look of braces.
Nowadays the brackets can be made of materials that blend well with the natural colors of teeth.
For instance, ceramic brackets can be color-fixed or clear whereas the wire comes in a pearly color. This ensures that your braces don’t attract attention.
Traditional braces have the shortest treatment times compared to alternatives.
2- Aligners
Aligners fall under removable Orthodontics and come in the form of transparent trays.
To accommodate the movement of your teeth, you have to change your Aligners biweekly.
While you have the flexibility to remove them, you need to wear your Aligners for a minimum of 20 hours per day. This leaves room for you to remove them when eating or brushing your teeth.
Because many tend to not keep up with the demanding schedule and responsibilities of Aligners, treatment time is longer than with traditional braces.
3- Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are a good alternative for those who want the rapidity of traditional braces but the ambiguity of Aligners. Instead of the brackets being cemented on the front of the teeth, placement takes place on the inner side where they’re concealed.
